Welcome to Jay's Packards For Sale page
It is time for me to pass on a couple of my Packard cars for others to enjoy, hopefully as much as I have enjoyed them. I am offering the two Packards pictured at left to good homes. Below are descriptions of the two cars. Both cars are in good running condition. For several pictures of each of the two Packards I am offering for sale, please click here.
1941 Packard One Twenty (120) Touring Sedan For Sale
Chassis: 1901 Model 1492 Engine: 282 Straight Eight, 120 hp
3-speed standard transmission 89,500 miles on the odometer
This car is in quite good cosmetic condition as well as mechanical condition. It has all new braking system parts, including wheel and master cylinders, shoes, springs, etc. It also has a new timing chain and rebuilt water pump. Wheel and axle bearings have been replaced with new where needed, and some steering parts have been replaced. All four rolling tires are in good condition. Both spare tires are serviceable but do not match the four rolling tires. The wool broadcloth interior upholstery is in good shape, as is the head liner. The dashboard is in decent shape with the exception of the bezel around the speedometer, which has deteriorated away. The matching bezel on the glove compartment is in excellent condition. A brand new replacement bezel for the speedometer area is readily available for less than $200 from Yesterdays Radio, but I have not taken the time to buy and install it.
Above is the NADA listing for this car as of December 15, 2012. I consider this car to be about average retail, so I am asking $21,900. If you are interested in this car, please make me an offer. You can e-mail me at altmanj@mindspring.com.
1949 Packard Eight Sedan For Sale
Chassis: 2211-9 Model 2262-9 Engine: 288 Straight Eight, 130 hp
3-speed standard transmission 90,200 miles on the odometer
This car is really nice! Yes, I do have the rear wheel skirts, both in excellent condition just like the rest of the car. This car has just been professionally renewed mechanically with lots of new parts: Radiator core, all four shocks, all new brake shoes, wheel cylinders, and master cylinder, tie rod ends and some other front suspension and steering parts, and tune up. All tires appear to be in excellent condition and very little used. Original radio included but not mounted in the dash. I do not know if it works. Interior upholstery is like brand new and still has factory or dealer installed (?) heavy patterned plastic protective covers that are not yellowed, torn or cracked. In other words, beautiful! You can see the exact, custom fit of these covers in the pictures on this page. Notice the exact fit on the fold down arm rest in the back seat. This is a really pretty car in very good condition. The front bumper is brand new chrome. Very little effort would make this into a real show car (better than high retail).
Above is the NADA listing for this car as of December 15, 2012. I consider this car to be above average retail, so I am asking $11,900. If you are interested in this car, please make me an offer. You can e-mail me at altmanj@mindspring.com.
