1941 Packard One Twenty Sedan

Welcome to Jay's Packard page

It was time for me to pass on a couple of my Packard cars for others to enjoy, hopefully as much as I have enjoyed them. My 1949 headed for its new home in Florida in August 2013, and my yellow 1941 left for its new home in California Saturday morning, September 7, 2013. Below are links to several pictures of the 1941 car as it began its trip.

To view any picture, just click on its link in the listing below. It will open up in a new page in your browser as large as possible. After looking at any picture, just click on your browser's back button to return to this page and the list of images to select another.

If you are using a current version of Internet Explorer (Version 8 or higher) or Firefox (Version 3.x or higher), you may click anywhere in one of the pictures to zoom in on that point. A second click returns to the full sized image. The "BACK" button returns you to this page.

1954 Packard Clipper Deluxe for sale

My 1954 Packard Clipper Deluxe, pictured at left in my driveway, is now for sale. 83,000 miles. The unusual Galahad Green over Bellevue Green two-tone paint combination on this 4-door sedan with automatic transmission and power brakes makes it an attention getter wherever my wife and I have driven it. This is an excellent running car and a pleasure to drive. All four rolling tires are in great condition with lots of tread, with a serviceable spare. This is an all original, unrestored car with no body damage except for a small ding on the right side at the lower back of the front fender and the lower front door. You can see it in one of the pictures. I have no idea what happened since the damage was there when I got the car three years ago. The original radio is present but does not work. New all-copper radiator core. Original generator just rebuilt to better than new with upgraded front bearing and rear sleeve. Brake system completely rebuilt with new shoes and wheel cylinders all around and totally rebuilt power brake unit and master cylinder, all working perfectly. Come and get it and drive it home! If you live in Central Florida, I could put the car on the Amtrak Auto Train where you can retrieve it at the train station in Sanford, Florida. Drive it home from there for your first enjoyable ride in the car. I am asking $7,950, or best offer. Please send me an e-mail at e-mail Jay with questions and to make an offer.

1941 Packard 120 Touring Sedan leaves for its new home in California

Just starting to drive the car onto the trailer. The driver has the Packard all lined up and ready to drive onto the trailer.

The truck driver is about half way up onto the trailer. Here he is about half way to the final position where he wants the car.

The truck driver has just a little further to go. Just a little further and he will have the car where he wants it, leaving room behind it for the pick up truck he will be adding in Richmond later in the afternoon.

The driver secures the front of the Packard above the 1956 Thunderbird below Here the driver is securing the left front wheel of the Packard. He has already tied down all three other wheels, and is almost ready to go.

The driver has the car right where he wants it and is almost ready to go One final check before he takes up the loading ramps at the back, and the driver will be ready to go. His big, beautiful rig is only three months or so old, and the trailer can carry up to seven vehicles. After he leaves with the Packard, he has to pick up a pick up truck in Richmond, and then deliver the T-Bird in Smithfield, VA (famous for its hams). After dropping off the T-Bird, the driver will move the Packard down to its spot immediately behind the cab of his trailer. That will be nice since it will protect the Packard from flying debris, hail, etc., on its way across the country. The driver will also be picking up additional cars before heading West to Californa, and will have a full load when he heads for Los Angeles.

There he goes There he goes, driving East toward Richmond, VA on Interstate 64. I shot this picture from near where we loaded the car at the back of the large, empty parking area to the left of where I am standing as I take this picture. The overpass just in front of the tractor-trailer is where Skyline Drive and the Blue Ridge Parkway are crossing over the Interstate and the highway below him is Hwy 250 at Exit 99 of Interstate 64.
